TGIMBOEJ: Blast From the Past

Way back when, I read about and signed up to receive TGIMBOEJ (The Great Internet Migratory Box Of Electronics Junk). In 2010 I was contacted by someone who was supposed to send me a box. The box never came and according to the tracking page it seems to have never left it’s last destination. Presumed lost forever. Now it’s 2016 and I get an email from Dave at asking if I’d like to receive TGIMBOEJ…. of course I would!

Update (08-29-2018): The box has moved a couple steps but appears to have stalled at the Berkeley Public Library. Hopefully they can get it moving again.

The box arrived from Dave on Jan 6, 2016 with plenty of goodies inside. It contains a booklet containing the box history. It originated in Tennessee, went to California and took a looooong break in Illinois… for about 7 years. Dave has a good story about the box over on his blog. I wonder if he saw this recent article on Hackaday and it reminded him about the box. After contacting 3 people from the TGIMBOEJ Box Request page, I got a response from Pete and it’s now out of my hands. Hopefully Pete finds something useful in it, I know I did. Here’s what I removed & added:
